David Hunter Weston Jr.

Another star joined those in the heavens on November 12, 2013. David Hunter Weston Jr. passed after a short illness. He was born in Staunton, VA on October 27, 1932 to David & Jane Weston. He was the oldest of 4 children and was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret Newton Weston and 2 sisters. Yvonne Rosson of Afton, VA is his only remaining sibling. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and graduated from The College of William & Mary as a theater major in 1958. During his summer college months he performed in Williamsburg's outdoor play 'The Common Glory' where he was spotted by his greatest fan, Margaret Newton. In 1960 he and Margaret married and they moved to Nevada then Texas and finally settling back home in Williamsburg. Mr. Weston will be greeted in heaven by his beloved wife of 44 years Margaret, who passed nearly 10 years ago. He leaves behind 3 children; David Weston III of Madison Wisconsin, Matthew Weston, his wife Morgan and their children Molly and McEwan of Williamsburg and Julia Nutter, her husband Robert and their children Hanna and Alex of Charlotte NC. Mr. Weston was a US Army Civil Service employee at Fort Eustis for 25 years but his greatest joy was felt when he was performing on stage. He performed in countless plays at the Williamsburg players. He was known as 'The Voice of Fort Eustis' where he MC'd countless retirement ceremonies. He also acted in Williamsburg's Shakespeare Festival, the Nutcracker and countless other shows in and around Williamsburg. David and Margaret were charter members of Wellspring United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 22nd at 7pm at Wellspring UMC, 4871 Longhill Road, Williamsburg. David, Matthew and Julia would like to offer our sincere thanks to Hampton Veterans Medical Center and The Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg for the compassionate care during their fathers last days.
