George Dennis Myers

Surrounded by family, George Dennis Myers died on Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Williamsburg after a long and active life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Jarvis Myers; parents, Mabel and George Myers; and sister, Carol Myers Moore. George is survived by his children, Stacey Oehler (Philip), Dale (Kathy), Mark (Tiena), Steve (Rachel), niece Cheryl Lollis, and nephew Charles King as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. George was born in Cherrydale, Virginia. Soon after, the family moved to Carter’s Grove where he attended Matthew Whaley School. He worked for 30 years as a carpenter and served as the Business Agent for his local union. George is most known for serving our community as the President of George Myers Contracting for the last 30 years. He enjoyed playing golf, shooting pool, and winning at the black jack tables. A visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Nelsen Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
