Eldon Daniel Aldred

Eldon Daniel "Dan" Aldred, 91, passed away on January 11, 2021. He was born in Kentucky on April 7, 1929, the son of the late Eldon and Nondes Aldred. Dan served in the U.S. Navy and served two tours during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Purdue University with BSEE and BSNT degrees. Dan worked as an Electronics Engineer and in Engineering Management for 44 years mostly at Magnavox. With the help of other retired Magnavox Engineers, he wrote, edited, and illustrated a book on the programs and products of the Government and Industrial Division. His Navy service and his employment at Magnavox provided many opportunities for travel around the world. Dan also enjoyed his three years as a volunteer leader of the Boy Scouts of AWAC. He was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church since 1962. He is survived by his children, Steve (Robin) Aldred, Lisa (David) Rabaduex, David (Christina) Aldred; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Aldred; and his siblings. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church Youth Fund.
