Don Hart Meade

Don Hart Meade, 82, of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband to his first wife, the late Mary Ann Williams Meade and to his second wife, Anna Lee M. Meade. Born on February 14, 1937 in Wayland, KY, he was the son of the late Ernest Wood Meade and the late Thelma Hart Meade. Don retired from the Lynchburg Foundry after 32 years of service. At different stages in his life, Don was a gentleman farmer that worked with dairy cows and repaired small engines. He also enjoyed woodworking as he created nativity scenes that he would sell. Don was a member of Sandusky Baptist Church. In addition to his parents and first wife, Don is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Everett Osborne and his brother, Tom Meade. He is survived by his wife, Anna Lee M. Meade; step-son, David Miller and wife Beth along with their family, Melissa Austin and husband Cory and their children, Cecily and Brecken, Luke Miller and wife Jessica, and Megan Hardy and husband Justin; step-daughter, Veronica Glover and husband Ray along with their family, Ashley Jarrett and husband Jason and their son Jaden and Chris Glover and his wife Stephanie; sister-in-law, Ava Lou Meade; and nephews, Ed E. Osborne, Mack Meade, and William Meade. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
