William Francis Browne III, 79, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021. He was born June 20, 1941 to William F. Browne II and Mary C. (Brown) in Mt Clemens, MI
Bill was a Millwright by trade and later graduated from GMI with a degree in Mechanical engineering. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed traveling and camping in their motorhome with his grandchildren. Bill looked forward to going to deer camp with his sons and hunting with friends. Although he enjoyed fishing, it was another way to spend time with his wife (who out fished him most of the time). Bill was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He belonged to the American Foundrymans society for over 25 years. He was very active in the Allen County GOP. Bill served on the Aboite Township board holding the positions of Trustee and Board Chairman. He was recognized for his efforts for the township by naming the music pavilion in Aboite Township Park after him. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara; children, Christopher (Kathryn), Michael (Teresa) and Patrick (April); Five grandchildren, Matthew, Melanie, Seth, Austin, Auburn. The family wishes to thank all the friends and neighbors for their help during his battle with cancer, God bless you for your Kindness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church 12305 Arcola Rd. Fort Wayne, IN 46818 Saturday January 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation will also be Friday January 29, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the church, with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. Preferred Memorials to St. Patrick Church, Arcola, the American Cancer Society or the Aboite Township Fire Department..
