Robert G. Fuller M.D.

Robert G. Fuller, M.D, 87, died on Friday, January 29 in Greenwood, Indiana. Dr. Fuller was born on January 30, 1933 in Bloomington, Indiana to Glen and Rachel Fuller. He and his family moved to Columbus in 1935. He married Bonnie J. Reece, daughter of Lloyd and Ruth Reece, in 1955. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2017. Dr. Fuller graduated from Indiana University and then served in the U.S. Army at Fort Detrick, Maryland, the Army’s Biological Warfare Program. After his military service, he attended and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine. He and Dr. Fred B. Andrews established a Family Practice in July 1962 at 1919 25th Street, Columbus, Indiana. In July 1965 the office moved to 1940 Doctors Park Drive, Columbus, Indiana, and continued to practice there until retirement in 2008. Dr. Fuller was active in Volunteers in Medicine until retirement. He was Columbus East High School’s team physician from 1972 to 1979. Dr. Fuller is survived by his daughters, Toby Johnson and Barrie Fuller of Columbus; and sons, Blake (Beth) Fuller of Greenwood, Indiana and Rhett (Sharmila) Fuller of Belle Mead, New Jersey. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Brittany R. (Tyler) Jaynes, Samuel F. Johnson, Bonnie R. Fuller, Summer L. Fuller, Hannah Fuller, Addie Fuller, Evan Fuller, Rijel R. Fuller, and Arjen G. Fuller. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, sister, Barbara J. Hodler; and stillborn granddaughter, Paula Ann. Memorials in Dr. Fuller’s name may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society or the Heritage Fund- Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.
