Obituary of Kezzie S. Childs
Kezzie Shanelia Childs was born May 3, 1978 to Cathy Jones and Randy King. She was the middle child to an older sister and a younger brother. She accepted Jesus Christ into her life at an early age and re-dedicated her life back to Christ as recently as December 2020. Kezzie was educated in Gary Public Schools. During High School she also attended Cosmetology School where she developed her love for makeup and skin care. In 1999, Kezzie received her GED. Kezzie held various jobs as a young mother, so that she could care for herself and her baby girl. In 1999 she found the love of her life in Raymond. Kezzie and Raymond fell deeply in love early on in their relationship and on January 26, 2006 they made a commitment to each other, in front of God to love, protect and honor each other forever. Their commitment to each other and their love for their family outweighed any obstacles and/or challenges that comes with life. Their union was blessed with 7 loving children and 5 beautiful grandchildren and they still had enough love in their home and hearts to give freely to any child that needed it. Kezzie dedicated her life to her Husband and their children. She was a nurturer by nature. She found true joy in pouring into others. Kezzie was self-less, and a blessing to all that had the privilege of having her in their life. Her ability to light up any room she walked into with a smile was a true testament to the beauty of her soul. Her unwavering loyalty to her family, her loved ones and her marriage was an inspiration for all that knew her. Her strength was un-matched. She did not back down to life's challenges, nor did she let anything break her. She always came back fighting. Always getting the job done, Kezzie was the Manager for Nu-Street, Nu-Path, Nu Wave Inc. She worked tirelessly to ensure her children would see their dreams manifest. In support of her family's aspirations, she was on the cusp of negotiating a deal for her children that would of moved her and her family to Houston, Texas later this year. Kezzie showed her love with her actions, she didn't just tell you she loved you, she showed you on a daily just how much she loved you. The only thing bigger than her big beautiful smile was her huge loving heart. Kezzie was preceded in death by her beautiful granddaughter Royalty Shanelia Childs, her grandmother Nelia Winston and her grandfather Otis White. Kezzie leaves to cherish in her memory, her loving Mother and Father, 3 Daughters; Kayla, T'ana and Naomi, 2 Sons; Raymond III and Xavier, 1 Brother, James Allen, 1 Sister, Jameka Smith and a host of loving family and friends.
