Virginia Lee Oakley

Virginia Lee Oakey, 80 from Evansville, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Deaconess Hospital Midtown. She was born in Winslow, Indiana to the late William P. and Beatrice M. (Swain) Ellis. Virginia graduated from Petersburgh High School in 1960. Shortly after graduating, her family moved to Evansville where she met her husband, Warren Oakley. She worked in a clerical capacity for several Evansville companies through the years, before starting her own cleaning business in the 90s. Virginia is survived by her husband of 56 years, Warren of Evansville; a daughter, Becky Osborne (Ron); grandchildren, Katie Osborne (Nathan Burmeister) of Denton, TX; Emma, Ellie, and William Osborne; and one great grandchild, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Trafton Ellis (Karen). Visitation will be held 3:00-6:00 pm., Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
