IN THE CARE OF

Demaine Funeral Home

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7) On February 1, 2021, William J. Boylan of Alexandria, VA, passed away at the age of 57 due to complications of an aortic dissection. Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Stacy Mueller Boylan. He is survived by his parents, William and Janet Boylan, in-laws Robert and Francene Mueller, sister Karen Eastman (husband, Scott and children, Kylie and Braden), brother in-law Bobby Mueller (wife, Jennifer and daughters, Laney and Alex), Aunt Kay Sparkman, Aunt Sharon Marsh, Aunt Mary Morris, a host of cousins and his godson, Chance Hogue. Bill also leaves behind his most cherished friend, Tony Cerveny. Bill is a native of Aberdeen, Maryland. He graduated from Archbishop Spalding Catholic High School in Severn, Maryland. Bill was a member of the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1985. Upon graduation, Bill was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He went on to achieve the rank of Captain and had a tour of duty in Operation Desert Storm. Bill continued his education and completed two master's degrees in Aeronautical Science and National Security Studies. After leaving the military, Bill enjoyed a long and successful career in the engineering field. Bill was a loving husband to his wife, Stacy, who was truly the love of his life. Bill’s life centered around Stacy for all the years they were together, and they both found true happiness together. Bill also had a real passion for sports, and his heart was with his beloved Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed attending Ravens games with his nephew, Braden, every chance he could get. He also loved attending Washington Wizards and Capitals games with his niece, Kylie. One of Bill’s other true passions was spending time with his family, and he would take his family to the Outer Banks every Thanksgiving. Bill felt that family time was an essential part of life. Lastly, Maddie (his pet cat), brought into his life by Stacy, provided constant companionship and unconditional love to Bill for many years after Stacy’s passing. Maddie was always by his side. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors (especially Dr. Liam Ryan and Dr. Vineet Mehan), nurses, housekeeping, and food staff at Inova Fairfax Hospital for taking such good care of Bill for the past eight years. He affectionately referred to this team as his ”buds”. Bill fought many health battles, but he fought them all with optimism, gratitude, kindness and grace. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 9th, from 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home in Alexandria, Virginia.
