Michael Harrell

Michael Brooks Harrell, 33, passed away at VCU in Richmond, VA on Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was born November 11, 1987 in Newport News, VA and resided in Hampton, VA all his life. He received his GED in 2004. He loved animals, working on cars, playing video games and rooting for his favorite team the Washington Football Team, but his passion was fishing. Michael had a beautiful gentle soul and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Michael is survived by his mother & step-father, Diana and Marc Smith; his father Lynwood Harrell; his siblings, Brian Harrell (Erin), Brett Smith (Katelyn) and his Uncles, Aunts and cousins. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church 99 E Mercury Blvd, Hampton, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Youth Challenge of Hampton Roads, 332 34th St, Newport News, VA 23607 or to St. Mark’s UMC.
