Obituary of Robert Brian Botta
Robert "Brian" Botta, 57, of Richmond, VA passed away on April 4, 2021. He was born in Indiana on June 28, 1963 to James and Jarilyn Botta. Brian proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1981-1989 for which he received several awards including but not limited to rifle and pistol expert badges, Humanitarian services medal, and Meritorious Unit Commendation. He is survived by his wife, Kira Stitt; mother, Jarilyn Botta; children, Alexander, Elizabeth, Leonidas, Thaddeus, Kipling, and Olivia Botta and step-son Ian Llorian; brothers Jim, Dr. Vince & wife Ann, John & wife Heather, and Deryl & wife Paula Botta; sister Sheryl and husband Mario Abreu; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. James A. Botta, and infant daughter Ruth Botta. Brian was proud of his military service and his accomplishments while serving. He loved to talk with everyone he met – whether the topic be faith, politics, or a good book. He enjoyed sitting on the back porch smoking his midday pipe watching the birds and the squirrels. Brian also enjoyed the company of the family dog Tanner and his trips to the dog park. Brian’s faith was steadfast in the Lord whom guided his path and gave him the desire to keep living to his fullest capacity. He will always be remembered for his colorful personality, intelligence, and love of conversation. Services will be held at a later date in Alabama where he will be laid to rest.
