Joyce Louise Scrougham

Joyce Louise Scrougham, 88, of Nashville died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in Brown County Health and Living. She was born October 26, 1932 in Indianapolis to Guy Padgett and Lydia Drewlinger Padgett. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Earl D. Scrougham, Sr. of Nashville; three daughters, Karen (Joel) Jeanson of Wisconsin, Pam (Ronnie) Warford and Kathy (Jim) McDonald both of Brown County; a son, Earl (Melanie) Scrougham, Jr. of Martinsville; six grandchildren, Nathan Esford, Melissa Owen, Megan (Cody) Niles, Emily (Evan) Wyss, Matt McDonald and Molly (Brandon) Steele; three great grandchildren, Olivia Jeanson, Sutton Niles and Caroline Steele; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Ben Jeanson; a daughter-in-law, Karen Scrougham; five brothers, Jack Padgett, Tom Padgett, Bill Padgett, Charles Padgett and Walter Padgett; and two sisters, Nell Wiegle and Mary Howard. Joyce was the youngest of eight children and as the baby of the family was taken everywhere she needed to be and then after being married to Earl he continued to chauffeur her around so Joyce never took up driving, this also led her to be a homebody. She loved tending to her house and family, she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, quilting, doing cross stitch, and reading. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
