Moris Gluckman

Moris Gluckman, 96, of Chantilly, VA, passed away on April 24th, 2021 in Fairfax.
Moris was born in Suceava, Romania, to Leon and Mina Gluckman. After finishing high school, the war started and he and his family were deported to a forced labor camp in Transnistria, Russia. Against all odds, they all survived and returned to Suceava after the war. He went to the Polytechnical Institute in Iasi, Romania, from where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.
He worked for 30 years as a chief design engineer at UMEB, Bucharest, Romania, where he designed electrical motors for trains, subways, and ships.
Moris immigrated to the United States in 1983 with his wife and only daughter. He lived in Alexandria, VA and worked as a data processing officer at Perpetual Bank from which he retired in the late ‘90s.
Moris is survived by his daughter Daniela and son-in-law Alan Bechara; grandchildren Jackie and Michael Bechara.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Adelina Gluckman and his sister, Frima Acs of Bucharest, Romania.
A Graveside Service for Moris will be held on Thursday, April 29th at 10:00am at King David Memorial Garden at the 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA, 22042.
