Jose G. Lizama

Jose Lizama was born on December 31, 1969 and passed away peacefully at the age of 52 on April 27, 2021 in his home town Arlington, VA after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Maria of 18 years and was a proud father to two children: Chris and Alondra. Jose immigrated to the United States to escape the political turmoil in El Salvador. He graduated From Bell Multicultural High School in Washington DC. As a member of the Red Cross he volunteered by transporting needy residents to the hospital. Due to the dedication to his community he was invited to the White House to serve on the Presidents Youth Leadership Forum and awarded the Congressional Silver Award in 1990. Jose was a dedicated employee at a telecommunications company for many years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors with his family. His smile and humor will truly be missed by many. A funeral service will be held on April 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at Murphy Funeral Home. The family will be there to welcome friends and family.
