Janet Fay Stanton, 69, of Evansville passed away peacefully Sunday, May 2, 2021. She was born March 18, 1952, in Holland, Indiana to the late Nolan and Viola Lauderdale.
Janet was a member of DAV Auxiliary and worked as a hairdresser, window dresser, party server and housekeeper. She loved animals, reading, cooking, camping, traveling and fishing.
She is survived by husband of 21 years, John Joseph Stanton; step-son, John Jay Stanton; brother, Gary Lauderdale (Gayle) of Isle of Palm, SC; four grandchildren, one great granddaughter; cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 7, 2021 at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers family would like to have memorial contributions made to Vanderburgh County Humane Society, 400 Millner Industrial Drive, Evansville, IN 47710.
