Darrell L. Brower Sr.

Darrell Lee Brower Sr., 81, of Muncie, passed away with his family by his side at home on Sunday, May 9, 2021. He was born on Tuesday, June 27, 1939, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of the late Kenneth Brower and Eleanor (Case) Brower Buttram. He married Malinda Hicks on July 7, 1962, and she passed away June 3, 2005. A lifelong resident of Muncie, Darrell worked for Warner Gear from 1959-1973 in various positions. He then worked for Marhoefer Packing from 1973-1975 in several areas. He then worked for Ontario Corp-Aero Forge in several positions from 1975-1995. His last job was a machine operator for Duffys Tool and Die. Darrell loved his family very much. He was a simple man who loved just sitting on his front porch and drinking coffee. He had a cat named “Mr. Blue” and a dog named Angela. He was a hard worker, a NASCAR fan, and loved to watch races on TV. Darrell is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Brower; sons, Darrell Jr. (Michelle), and Brock Brower (fiancé Gina); grandchildren, Zoe, Jaden, Chase, Lance, Taylor, and Mason Brower; sister, Janelda Pant; brother, Butch Saunders; and a fiancé Jennifer Lancaster. Also, his cat, Mr Blue, and his dog, Angela. He was preceded in death by his wife, Malinda Brower; his father, Kenneth Brower; his mother, Eleanor Brower Buttram; a sister, Sharon Lancaster; and a brother, Richard Brower. Friends and family may call Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Pastor Rusty Clements will officiate.
