Everleen Redd Hairston

Mrs. Everleen Redd Hairston, age 84 of Bassett, Virginia passed away on May 11, 2021. Mrs. Hairston was born on December 17, 1936 in Henry County to the late Ed Redd and the late Hattie Johnson Redd. She was a loving mother and wife of 56 years to Archie Price Hairston, Jr. , who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by a son, Archie Price Hairston III. She was retired from Tultex with over 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed decorating the Church Fellowship Hall for Christmas Dinners every year. Mrs. Hairston is survived by her children, Marilyn Carter, Howard Hairston, Vivian Callaway and numberous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was 1 of 14 siblings, Robert, Queen, Frank, Sandy, Johnsie, Frances, Blanche, Leola, Vernon, John, Melvin, Larry and Luther. A floating visitation will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Hairston Family Cemetery, Columbus Drive, Bassett, Virginia.
