Jon A L'hommedieu
April 4, 1937 – April 23, 2021

Jon A. L’hommedieu, 84 of Florida and formerly of Markle and Fort Wayne, lost his battle with Covid on April 23, 2021 in Florida. Jon served in the US Air Force as a pilot from September 20, 1960 until December 15, 1968. Throughout his career he managed various plants, making paper, rubber, steel, plus consulting and ended his career in compliance management for all Altec Engineering. Jon’s passion was serving our Lord in various capacities. He was asked once, “Jon, do you golf, or what hobbies do you have?” His response, “I do church.”
Jon was born on April 4, 1937 in Savanna, IL, a son of the late Lee and Cleora Homedew.
He was united in marriage to Janice Caley Tomei on February 21, 1981. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include – Six Children: Eric (Michelle) L’hommedieu, Kevin (Mary) L’Hommedieu, Erin (Jeff) Neaver, Perry Tomei, Mike (Nikki) Tomei and Sheri Bunnell. Two sisters: Adana (Don) Hilkemeier and Janis Wilt. 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A Military Rites Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with a time of visitation to follow, prior to the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service to be held at the Cedar Creek Church, 12606 Leo Rd., Fort Wayne, IN.
Interment will take place at the Markle Cemetery following the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made out to the Cedar Creek Church or the Beyond 2020 Campaign at New Day Christian Church, both in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770.
