Barbara S. Satchwill

Barbara S. Satchwill, 78 of Warren and formerly of Huntington and Markle, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Parkview Huntington Hospital. Barbara lived most of her life in Huntington county before moving to Wells county in 2000 and then to Warren in 2012. She taught school for many years, was a manager for a clothing party plan and managed a specialty women’s shop in Fort Wayne. Barbara also worked with her husband Don on their farms. She was a 1961 graduate of West Rock Creek High school. She then received her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from Manchester University and a Master’s Degree and vocational license from Ball State University. She was a pianist for her former church and was a member of an extension homemakers club. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ. Barbara was born on January 19, 1943 a daughter of the late Eldon M. and Mary E (Friedley) Palmer. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Satchwill on August 22, 1965 at the Applegate Chapel in Warren. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2013. Survivors include – two daughters: Sharilyn (Dave) Boots of Bluffton and Marla (Deron) Overholt of Huntington. Four grandchildren: Regan (Logan) Dettmer, Kyler Boots, Ashlin Overholt and Kiersten Boots; a sister: Marsha (Bill) Link of Newport Beach, CA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date at the Markle Cemetery.
