Obituary of Susan Dee Herrin
Susan Dee (Riley) Herrin, was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She entered her heavenly home on June 13, 2021 at the age of 74. She was born on April 17, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana. After graduating from North High School, Susan attended Indiana State University and earned her bachelor’s degree. She worked for the Evansville State Hospital and then 28 years with Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, including many years as athletic secretary at Central High School. Susan was very proud of her family. She loved attending the activities of her granddaughters and encouraging them to do their best by cheering loudly. She also attended Crossroads Christian Church and was part of a very active small group. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Dee Riley. Susan is survived by her husband of 53 years, Roger; her sons Cory (Staci) and Clay (Jo); granddaughters Riley and Reaghan Herrin, Carli and Kelsie Herrin; brother Scott (Susan) Riley; as well as her nieces and nephews. A visitation will be Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Alexander West from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. with live streaming at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Denny Stevenson and Pastor Cory Herrin. A private burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to "Riley Memorial/EVSC Foundation." Contributions will be used to fund college scholarships for North High School students where her father was the first football coach.
