Therese Lee Stratton

Therese Lee Stratton, 64, passed away in the early morning hours of September 27, 2021. She had been with immediate family at her home in McLean, VA. Therese had retired from a long career at the Georgetown University Law Center, and Georgetown University. At the Law Center, she served as Assistant Dean for Faculty Support and Campus Services, Director of Administration, and as Deputy Associate Registrar. She was instrumental in managing the Law Center’s broad expansion of its downtown campus, including construction of the Gewirz Student Center, the Ginsburg Sport & Fitness Center, the Hotung International Law Building, and significant renovations to McDonough Hall and the Williams Law Library. Therese was especially proud that she was part of opening the childcare center at GULC. Therese was a 1975 graduate of Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, and graduated with a B.S. and M.S. from Virginia Polytech Institute. She is survived by her husband, James “Strat” Stratton, and two sons, Patrick and Matthew, her sister Kathleen and brother Rob and his spouse Deirdre, and nieces and nephews Vanessa and spouse Vicki, Brennan, Pearse, Saoirse, and Maire Eilis, her sister-in-law Debbie and her daughter Julianne , and scores of dear friends she was able to make everywhere she went, and kept throughout her life.
