Edward Patrick Seeger passed away at INOVA Fairfax Hospital from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on October 6, 2021. He was 69 years old. Ed was born December 17, 1951 in Washington, DC. He lived in Arlington, VA as a young boy and then Falls Church, VA for his whole life. Ed was a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, in Winchester, VA. He was a very accomplished musician who played trumpet and piano. He taught private trumpet lessons after his graduation, and occasionally played as a a substitute in the Redskin’s Band. Ed’s perfect pitch enabled him to play anything by ear that people requested he play. He played trumpet in the Fairfax Band traveling to different locations for performances, including Normandy France. He was a talented singer, and sang in the choir at Saint James Catholic Church in Falls Church, VA for many years along with his father. Unfortunately, in the last several years, Ed’s Parkinson's forced him to stop his participation in the band and choir. Ed kept his music as a hobby and began working for the Central Intelligence Agency in 1980. He worked as an analyst there for 31 years. On October 1, 2011 Ed married the love of his life, Mary Lou Ziegler. They shared an interest in international travel and particularly cruises. They traveled throughout the world. They also enjoyed theatre and music; attending numerous concerts and performances locally and elsewhere in the country. They enjoyed season’s tickets to the Kennedy Center. Ed loved sports and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Washington Nationals and the Washington Football Team. He and Mary Lou enjoyed going to games, and keeping up with their favorite teams. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Joan C. Seeger; his father, Edward G. Seeger; and his brother, Dennis Michael Seeger. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Ziegler; sister, Janice Seeger; and many cousins. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26 from 10:30am - 12:30pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St., Falls Church, VA. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 1:00pm at Saint James Catholic Church, 905 Park St., Falls Church, VA.
