William H. Hendryx

William “Bill” H. Hendryx, 66, of Huntington passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 26, 2021 at his residence. Bill spent the majority of his adult life in Huntington, having graduated in 1973 from Huntington North High School. Bill worked at Majestic for 25 years until they closed and for Bendix for six years, retiring in 2020. Bill coached youth in the Huntington PAL Football Club. He coached the Bears for many years and he quietly enjoyed following all of his Bears throughout their football journeys. Bill was outwardly a man of fewer words but when you got him going, he had plenty to share. He loved airplanes, reading, and riding his Victory motorcycle. Bill had his pilot license and in retirement bought a Drifter 2-seater and loved flying it locally. Bill was born on June 6, 1955 in Frankfurt, Germany a son of the late Dorothy (Leonard) Robinson and Billie C. Hendryx. Survivors include - his partner: Phyllis Herring of Huntington, with beloved pets Gus, Daisy and Kitty; three sons: Adam (Julie) Hendryx of Huntington, Shaun (Katie) Hendryx of St. Petersburg, FL, David (Krystal) Hendryx of Huntington. Seven grandchildren: Mara Hendryx, Haden Hendryx, Aubrey Powell, Aaron Hendryx, Triniti Kay Hendryx, Niklas Hendryx and Kiara Hendryx. Ex-wife Tamara Hendryx. Step-daughters, Sandy (Chad) Shaw and Stefni (Dave) Scharland. Five step-grandchildren, all loved like they were his own: Xavier Shaw, Zachary (Tori) Shaw, Blaze Shaw, Gage Shaw and Derrik Scharland. Two brothers: Carl (Pam) Hendryx and Roger Hendryx. A sister Diane Hendryx and step-siblings: Michael Robinson, Lowry Robinson, Crystal Keaton and Rick Robinson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN, with Pastor Amos Albright officiating. We will be following the CDC and Indiana’s guidelines, mask wearing has been requested by the family. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
