Obituary of Gabriel Brian Stephens
Gabriel Brian Stephens, 18, departed this life on November 11, 2021. A fun-loving young man with an intense and playful spirit, he leaves us with an indelible imprint in our hearts. His life was filled with love and affection towards his family, friends, and coworkers, and anyone lucky enough to know him loved him right back. He attended Fork Union Military School, where he played on the lacrosse team, graduated middle school, and made close friends. He graduated from Atlee High School this past spring, attending the Hanover Trade School as well. He enjoyed the carpentry program, though his true passion was anything with wheels. Gabe could often be found riding around Mechanicsville on his bike (sometimes with his dog Daisy in his backpack) or riding his customized scooter at local skateparks. Most recently, he enjoyed working on his new car, a modified 1994 civic eg6 hatchback. He spent many hours at the ponds in Kings Charter, fishing with friends. Gabe was an excellent snowboarder and also had a love for ice and roller hockey. Aside from hobbies, he worked at Thai Gourmet for the past couple years, where he developed an affection for the owner, coworkers, and red curry. Preceded in death by his grandmother, Vicki Scheffler. Recently preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Betty Scheffler. Survived by his parents, Brian and Jessica (Allison); siblings, Nick Grubb, Carrie-Lynn Stephens, Jay Engel, Molly Engel, Heidi Engel; Grandparents, Kaiser and Taunia Stephens, Davy (Joye) Scheffler; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many loving friends.
