Clara Mae Friel

Clara Mae Mohr Mason Friel, 94, was lovingly embraced by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, as she stepped into eternity with Him. Clara was born November 7, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN, to Walter and Ethel Mohr. She lived 91 of her 94 years in the same home in which she was born.
She was a charter and lifetime member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and was past president of both the Mars Hill Drexel Gardens Improvement Association and the Municipal Gardens White Cross Guild of Methodist Hospital. She also served as a Pink Lady Volunteer for the Chaplain's office at Methodist Hospital. She retired from L.S. Ayres in 1988 after 17 years of service.
She was the widow of Richard (Dick) Friel. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Mason, granddaughter, Jennifer Mason and grandson, Christopher Mason. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Clarence Mason (Jana Lee), Janelle Aaron (Brad), Marjorie Huey, Richard (Rick) Friel (Patti) and Karen Becker (Mark), her stepdaughters, Linda Doutt and Stacy Friel, as well as 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, November 24, at 12:00p.m., at Crown Hill Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 10:00a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Child and Family Services, 1525 N. Ritter Ave., Indianapolis, IN, 46219, or the charity of your choice.
