Ellen Marie McQuillen

Marie McQuillen, 79, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on November 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her mother, Freeda Barnette. For many years, Marie worked as a medical secretary for Womancare of Williamsburg. Marie was an avid reader and cookbook collector. She spent much of her time traveling, making special memories in Lancaster and Nashville, TN, seeing the Oak Ridge Boys at the Grand Ole Opry. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gary McQuillen; son, Mark McQuillen (Tina); daughter, Pam McQuillen Sych; grandchildren, Jason McQuillen, Taylor McQuillen, Matthew Sych, and Kasey Sypolt (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Kyndall Sych and Grayson Sypolt; sister, Patty Raines (Ed); and nephew, Eddie; as well as many beloved family and friends. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00pm on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Marie’s honor to the Salvation Army Christmas Fund.
