Dorsey Olin Calvert

Dorsey Olin Calvert, 88, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on November 24, 2021. He was born on March 1, 1933 in Sheridan, IN the son of Ralph Spencer and Mary M. Calvert (Cox). On November 15, 1951 he married Joan E. (Parks) Calvert who survives. In 1951, he graduated from Sheridan High School. Dorsey retired in 1994 from Chrysler after 40 years of service. He was member of the Burlington Lodge 111, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine and Grotto. Dorsey was very active in the Shrine Children Hospital in Florida. He collected can tabs and used the money to provide blankets for the hospital. Dorsey enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He was a veteran of the National Guard. Surviving relatives include his wife, Joan E. Calvert of Kokomo, IN; two sons, Steven Michael Calvert (Carol) of Brownsburg, IN; Brian Calvert of Kokomo, IN; Sherry Little of Kokomo, IN; five grandchildren, Courtney Carness (Brian); Brooke Clem (Jeremy); Justin Olin Sumner (Brandi) all of Kokomo, IN; Kristen Calvert of Valparaiso, IN; Amy Rhodes (Barry) of Brownsburg, IN; four great grandchildren, Riley Clem; London Bratz; Emily Mae Carness; Charlotte (Charlie) Rhodes; one brother and six sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Visitation will be 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery Kokomo, Indiana.
