Ray Axsom

Ray Axsom, 84, of Bloomington passed away on Sunday January 9, 2011 at the Bloomington Hospital. He was born in Monroe County to the Late Jason and Coredlla (Deckard) Axsom on July 26, 1926. He was a retired Stone worker and was a member of the Bloomington Eagles Lodge. He is survived by his wife: Doris (Bastin) Axsom of Bloomington, A Son and his wife: David Gerald "Jerry" & Eileen Martin of Pikeville, N. C., a Daughter and husband: Cristina & Erick Russell of Indianapolis, 3 Grandchildren and spouces: Darrell & Wei Martin of Los Gatos, CA, Dennis Martin of Goldsboro, N.C., and Darleen & Elbert Hood of Moyok, N.C., 3 Great Grandchildren: Denise Martin and Carrie Martin both of Goldsboro, N.C. and Martin Hood of Moyok, N. C. and one Brother and his wife: Ralph & Wilma Axsom of Bloomington, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 Brothers & Sisters. Visitation will be at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel on Thursday January 13th from 11AM to 1PM with the service to follow at 1PM at the Mortuary. Rev. Lloyd Swango will officiate.
