Marie E. Atkinson

Marie E. (Habig) Atkinson 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 27, 2011. She was born August 31, 1920, in Indianapolis to Charles and Louise (Woerner) Habig. She worked in catalog sales for Sears and Roebuck, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and previous member of Little Flower Catholic Church. Marie is the widow of Robert J. Atkinson. She survived by her daughters Mary Ann Atkinson, Anita (John) McMahon, Barbara (John) Ockomon and Jeanne (Jim) Norton, brother Charles Habig, grandchildren Sue (James) Brown, Mike (Ruth) McMahon, Jenny (John) Brose, Molly (Jason) Tippmann, Jan (Alan) Clements, Amy (Devin) Sanders, Heidi (David) Leaman, Katie (Sean) Kennedy, Danny (Casey) Norton and Emily Norton, 20 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sisters Louise Sullivan, Helen Bauer and Mildred Annee. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, April 1 at 11 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31 from 4 to 8 pm at the church and Friday one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scecina High School or Little Flower Catholic School for Tuition Assistance or to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
