Betty Jane Emerick

Mrs. Betty Jane Emerick, 66, a resident of Shenandoah, passed away Friday evening, July 1, 2011 at her home. A daughter of the late Howard H. and Lula Cave Comer, she was born on Oct. 14, 1944 in Page County and lived her entire life in Shenandoah. She attended Shenandoah High School and had been employed by Wrangler for 35 years. Mrs. Emerick was a member of the New Life Gospel Church. On July 3, 1999 she married William “Bill” Emerick who survives her. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Brenda Marshall, Patricia Moubray and Jackie Vaughan, all of Shenandoah; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; five brothers, Leroy Comer of Stanley; Leonard Comer, James Comer, Kay Roland Comer and Roger Comer, all of Shenandoah; and one sister, Mary Dean of Shenandoah. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ikey Comer and one sister, Margaret Davis. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, July 5, from 7:00 until 9:00 at the New Life Gospel Church. Funeral services will be at the Church at 11:00 Wednesday morning with the Rev. Tony Cubbage and Rev. Ray Berry officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
