Victoria Grace Allen

Victoria Grace Allen, 11, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011, from Type 1 Diabetes complications. She was born June 21, 2000 in Evansville. Victoria was an active member of Resurrection Catholic School and Parish. She served at Mass and was actively involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for six years. She lived with Type I Diabetes from age two. She played soccer and volleyball. Victoria was active in Girl Scouts and Jan’s School of Dance. Victoria dreamed of one day becoming a doctor or a dancer. She loved to travel and her dream was to visit all 50 states. She enjoyed swimming at her grandparents’ pool. Victoria loved to read and write her own stories. She loved to sing and she loved to do things with her family. Victoria adored her brothers and sisters and loved her cousins as if they were her brothers and sisters. Victoria is preceded in death by; great uncle, Lynn Strange; great aunt, Mary Reine; great grandparents, Cecelia and Edwin Reine, Mildred and Earl Strange, John and Nettie Hubbard, and Samuel and Pauline Allen. She is survived by her mother and father, Scott and Lynnette Allen; brother, Christian; sisters, Claire and Sophia; grandparents, John and Brenda Allen and Steven and Diana Reine; uncle, Brian Reine (Bev); aunts, Janell Reine Gardner (Chris), Danyelle Reine Jost (Matt) and Christy Allen; brother Matt Allen (Allison); sister, Cindy Lowe Leonard (Mike); and many cousins. Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2011, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 5301 New Harmony Road, officiated by Father Phil Kreilein with entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, and Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions may be made to any Old National Bank branch to the Victoria Grace Allen Fund.
