OBITUARY

Naomi R. Belcher

Naomi Ruth Belcher, age 84, of Bloomington, died Wednesday morning at her residence. Born February 2, 1927 in English, Indiana, she was the daughter of Luther Stanley and Emma Ilene (Benham) Jones. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Bloomington, Gideons International Women’s Auxiliary and Women’s Ministries International (W.M.I.). She is survived by her husband, Robert Belcher, of Brooksville, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Rev. Lauren Eicher, of Boswell, Indiana and Annette and Rev. Daylon Welliver, of Greenwood; two step-daughters, Peggy Maddox, of Dover, Florida and Barbara Voglesong, of English, Indiana; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eloise Helm, Casey, Illinois, Rosemary Luff and Charlene Smith, both of Bloomington and three brothers, Melvin Jones, of Shelbyville, Indiana, Mervin “Red” Jones, of Orleans, Indiana and Steve Jones, of Brooksville, Florida. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. James A. Roberson in 1997, one son, Jimmy Roberson, in 1968 and one sister, Vera Deno, in 2004. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at the Free Methodist Church with Pastors Chet Martin and Mel Nead officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery in English, Indiana at 3:00 P.M. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel in Bloomington and on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until service time at the church.
