Bess Helen Ofiesh

Bess H. Ofiesh (Age 93) Bess H. Ofiesh of Arlington, VA, died at home on Thursday, September 15 with her children around her. Born in New Kensington, PA, she created a beautiful home for her family and traveled the world with her husband, Gabriel, a career educator. She enjoyed all of the art museums and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Later in life, she found great pleasure in watching the many birds, especially the bright red cardinals on her back porch. Bess was preceded in death by her husband in 2007 and her son, Victor, in 2005. Survivors include her sons, David, Gabriel II, and Philip, daughter Rebecca and her good friend, Maria; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was our rock. The visitation will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at Arlington Funeral Home, 3901 N. Fairfax Drive.
