Obituary of Viola Glen Thacker Allen
Viola G. Allen was called home by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 22, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Allen, Sr., Pastor; her brother Garrett Thacker; and her sister, Virginia Stanley. She is survived by five children, Janice Dalton and her husband Russell, Norman E. Allen, Jr. and his wife Carol, Diane Hinegardner and her husband Jimmy, Jim Allen and his wife Linda, Jerry Allen and his wife Tanya; seven grandchildren, Norman Allen III, and his wife Mary Margaret, Teresa Breeden and her husband Craig, Marcia Wills and her husband Jim, C. G. Hinegardner, Jenny Fitzwater and her husband Mark, David Allen and his wife Theresa, Barbara Bennardo and her husband Chris, Brian Allen and his wife Tracy; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Viola was a devout Christian and a dedicated partner to her husband Norman in his lifelong service to the Lord as a Pastor. She was a wonderful, selfless and loving mother who was adored by her entire family and all who knew her. We were blessed to have Viola with us for 101 years. She worked at Aunt Sarah’s Pancake House in Glen Allen, VA for 40 years and was Aunt Sarah in the Ukrops Annual Parade on the Aunt Sarah’s float. She loved her customers and they loved her. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., where her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. She will then be taken to the Fredericksburg Cemetery in Fredericksburg, VA to be buried at 12:30 p.m. with her beloved husband, Norman.
