OBITUARY
Wilson Edward Ayers
March 15, 1929 – September 27, 2011
Norfolk – Wilson E. Ayers passed peacefully on September 27, 2011.
Mr. Ayers was a native of Norfolk, VA and a graduate of Maury High School’s veterans’ classes. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He serviced business machines for more than 25 years, and he worked at a number of part-time jobs thereafter. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet H. Ayers.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth W. Ayers; daughter, Hilve Firek and husband Bob; and cousins, Helen West, Nancy Blake, and Mildred Winslow.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 at the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Union Mission.
