Amadu Adamu

March 10, 1964October 6, 2011
The late Amadu Adamu aka Mr. Samuel Yaw Ntow Apenteng also affectionately called “Wofa Yaw” was born on March 10, 1964 at Adeiso in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He was the second of the six children of the late Mr. Moro Adamu, aka Elder Emmanuel Ntow Apenteng of Akuapem Akropong and fourth to Madam Fati Fusena, aka Deaconess Beatrice Ama Agyeiwa from Akim Asante Oda of the Eastern Region. He attended his Primary education at Adeiso Presby Primary School in the year 1970 and completed his middle school certificate in 1980 at Adeiso Presby Middle School. After his middle school education, he wrote and passed the Common Entrance Examination and went on to pursue his secondary education at St. Boateng Secondary School at Nsawam in the Eastern Region where he completed in 1985. Mr. Apenteng then moved on to work with VALCO in Tema, Ghana. He later left Ghana for Nigeria to further pursue his career objectives. He spent 3 years in Nigeria and returned to Ghana to work for The Minerals Commission in the Northern Region of Ghana. While working, Mr. Apenteng gained admission to pursue a Diploma in Script Writing at the University of Ghana Adult Education Program. Having the desire to be in journalism, publications, and the media, he also enrolled himself at NAFTI to pursue a 1 year Diploma in Journalism program. He excelled and completed all these programs. His love for God was central to everything he did and so while in Ghana, he was a staunch member of the Church of Pentecost, then Fountain Gate Chapel, and later joined Christian Action Faith Ministry in Accra when he settled in Accra. He loved prayers and so he joined Actions Prayer Warrior Group. His devotion and commitment to church activities was not only impeccable but also contagious. Wofa Yaw met his lovely wife Nora when he came down from the Northern Region for holidays in Accra in the year 2002. They got married in 2003 and settled in the USA in 2004. He worked as a Direct TV Technician and later worked with Micron as an Engineering Assistant. At the time of his death, he was in the process of setting up his own business. Mr. and Mrs. Apenteng were members of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Woodbridge, Virginia for several years before joining Royal House Chapel International (Ahenfie), Maryland Branch in 2008. In 2010, the Apenteng family joined the Woodbridge, Virginia Branch and has since been a committed and devoted Armor Bearer and a Leader of the Church. He was dutiful, loyal, dedicated and actively involved with church activities without wavering. On that faithful day of October 6, 2011, Mr. Apenteng was going about his normal duties as usual, but death came knocking; he had a heart attack, he was rushed to the Stafford Hospital, the Doctors tried everything to revive him but they could not; he went to be with the Lord. God knows what is best. “…the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD”. Job 1:21b. We place you in the arms of the Almighty and we pray that he keeps you in his perfect bosom until we meet again. Mr. Apenteng has left a vacuum that will be difficult to be filled. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and the many lives he touched. May his soul rest in perfect peace!
