Walter Weber, Jr., 91, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born August 26, 1920, in Evansville, IN.
He retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1984, after 32 years of service. Walter was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Lessing Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Hadi Shrine. He enjoyed camping and fishing with the family, and horse racing.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Viola in 2011; parents, Walter and Hazel Weber; and brother, Jack Weber.
He is survived by son, Gary Weber (Lana); daughter, Joan Hoge (Carl W. “Bill”); grandchildren, Stacey Couglin (Charlie), Angie Meurer, Christy Merrill (Mark), Theresa Bowers (Mike), Larry Renschler (Beth), Wayne Hoge (Melissa); 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 9, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Raymond Tucker, with burial at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday, January 8, 2012, 2-7 PM and Monday 9 AM until service time at the funeral home.
