Obituary of James Lamb
James A. Lamb, 68, Kokomo, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Waterford Long Term Care. He was born May 17, 1943, in Henry County, Indiana, to Richard and Thelma (Lammott) Lamb. He married Linda Felty in 1964, and she survives. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1961 and was a member of 4-H and a reporter for Rural Youth Officers. He was pastor of Dublin Methodist Church in 1966. He lived in Marion, Indiana for 27 years before moving to Kokomo in 2000. While in Marion, he attended Indiana Wesleyan University and College Wesleyan Church. He attended the United Methodist Church’s Course of Study to become a minister and their License to Preach course. He also led a weekly church service at Wesleyan Health Care. After moving to Kokomo, he became associate pastor for St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and had worked for Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home and Cemetery. He enjoyed golfing and fishing and cherished his family. In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by two sons, Terry (Debbie) Lamb, Sharpsville, and Mike (Jenny) Lamb, Gas City; six grandchildren; his first great-grandchild, expected in April; his mother; and one brother, Steve (Tami) Lamb. He was preceded in death by his father. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Burial in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery will take place at a later date.
