Dorothy Irene (Tucker) Borders, age 95, of Nashville, Indiana died Wednesday, March 21 at Brown County Health & Living Community. Born October 02, 1916 in Shelby County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Charles and Della (Sanders) Tucker. Ms. Borders was a homemaker and loved helping others, playing card games and especially preparing food for Sunday gatherings.
She is survived by four sons; Eugene (Lena Belle) Goodwin of Shelbyville, Keith (Dee) Goodwin of Nashville, Donald (Edna) Borders, Nashville and Larry (Donna) Borders of Nashville. She is also survived by four daughters; Glendola (Murriel) Phelps of North Vernon, Marilyn (Steven) Kritzer of Bloomington, Susan (Jim) Butts of Franklin, and Rhea Dawn Borders of Bloomington. She survives 25 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, and 83 great-great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray M. Borders, as well as her parents, three sisters; Evelyn Gahimer, Martha VanScyoc and Zible Swineheart as well as two brothers; William Tucker and Carl Tucker.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 26 at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home located at 1682 State Road 135N in Nashville. Burial will follow in Brown County Memorial Park Cemetery in Nashville. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 25 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
