Jon A. Fox II, 59, passed away, Tuesday, November 6, 2012, surrounded by his family at Deaconess Hospice in Evansville, IN. He was born, September 24, 1953 in Evansville.
He worked at Alcoa as a shift supervisor. He was a member of the VFW Post 1114; Masonic Lodge #64; Scottish Rite, and Hadi Shrine. He collected guns, knives and swords. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Jon was very proud to be picked to be on the police cadet program out of high school. He was also proud to have served in the Navy during the Vietnam War in the VP19 and his nickname was Vida.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Omar (Toby) & Mildred Swaw and Edward & Marie Fox; uncle, Tom Swaw; and stepfather, Clarence (Swede) Erickson.
Jon is survived by daughter, Heather Ann Bennett (Jonathan); son, Jon (Aaron) A. Fox III; mother, Patricia (Pat) Erickson; father, Jon A. Fox (Judy); brother Ron A. Fox; grandchildren, Jaiden Lee Puntney and Tyler Ray Bennett.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Deaconess Hospice for their care of Jon.
Services will be 1:00PM, Friday, November 9, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gary Brunson and Roger Lehman; with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday, November 8, 2012, from 2:00PM until 8:00PM and Friday from noon until service time at the funeral home. A Masonic Service by Lodge #64 will be held at 6:00PM Thursday.
