Virginia E. Patzman Armes, 95 years of age died Sunday November 11th, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. Virginia was born December 6, 1916 in Bismarck, N.D. to the late Rudolph and Frances Brown Patzman and was the widow of John W. Armes Sr. who died in 1983. Virginia was a full time mom, grandmother, and family person, who loved to play cards, read, knit, and crochet among other crafts she spent her time enjoying. She was a member of St. Mary’s Navilleton Catholic Church and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband John, a grandson Brian Rauck, two brothers Robert and Richard Patzman, and a sister Dolores Smith.
Survivors include:
Five Children: John W. Armes Jr. and wife Judy New Bern, N.C.
Richard C. Armes Arvada, CO.
Tom P. Armes and wife Joyce Taylorsville, KY.
Rudy C. Armes Floyds Knobs, IN
Judy Stiller and husband Leon Navilleton, IN
One Brother: Donald F. Patzman and wife Lois Washington State
Nine Grandchildren: Kirk, Jeff, Mike, Pat, Chrissy, Chris, Nick, Krista, and Scott.
Also Survived by Nine Great-Grandchildren
Reception of Friends and Family will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday and after 9:00 am Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St, New Albany. Her Funeral Liturgy will be held 11:00 am Thursday November 15th, at St. Mary’s Navilleton Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Expressions of Sympathy to: St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held 4:00 pm Wednesday afternoon at Kraft’s.
