Russell E. Kemp, 89, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012, at VNA Charlier Hospice. He was born January 17, 1923, in Dierks, Arkansas.
He was a graduate of SMU at the top of his class and was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII. Russell had been an electrical engineer at General Electric for 39 years and was a member of Fairlawn United Methodist Church. He enjoyed horse racing, traveling, auto mechanics and golf.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Rebecca Kemp, on October 16, 2012.
He is survived by his sons, Michael E. Kemp (Lynn C.) of Corydon, KY and John J. Kemp (Janna K.) of Carrollton, TX; and granddaughter, Angela K. Kemp.
Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Pat Jackson, with entombment in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
