Richard A. Spalding Sr., 63 years of age passed away Saturday January 19, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in New Albany, IN on March 20, 1949 to James W. and Mary M. Spalding, he was an Army Veteran serving his country in the Vietnam War and later spent over 20 years in the National Guard. Richard retired from Jorgensen Sales in Louisville, KY, and was a member of Parkway Southern Baptist Church and the VFW Hobart Beach post #1693. He was preceded in death by his father James W. Spalding, and the mother of his children and wife of 36 years Connie Friedley.

Grandchildren: Mary Ann, Krisden, Virgil, Samuel, Luke, Amanda, Allison, Matthew, Michael, Amber
Great-Grandchildren: Dekotah, Madyline
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Monday and after 9:00 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be Noon Tuesday at the Kraft Funeral Chapel with burial and military to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave.,Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
