Ruby W. Broyles

Ruby W. Broyles, 85, of Connersville, died early Thursday morning, January 24, 2013, at Sycamore Springs Nursing Home, Liberty. Ruby was born December 12, 1927 to William James and Effie Florence Forren Wilson in Wolf Creek, West Virginia. In 1945, she graduated from Alderson High School in Alderson, West Virginia and attended business school in Alderson. Ruby was married October 17, 1946 in Bluefield, West Virginia to James R. Broyles, who died August 9, 2000. They moved to Connersville in 1948 where she was kept busy raising her six boys. Ruby was a charter member of the Connersville Baptist Temple and enjoyed sewing, reading and crafts in her free time. Ruby is survived by five sons and their spouses: James R. Broyles, Jr. and Judi of Staunton, Virginia; Bill L. Broyles and Becky of Connersville; Leslie C. “Chuck” Broyles of Muncie; Steven K. Broyles of Connersville; Michael J. Broyles of Plainfield; her grandchildren: Julie Boggs of Connersville, Tara Broyles of Raleigh, Tiffany A. Broyles of Muncie, Ronald Gaddis of Connersville; three great-grandchildren: Brenner Boggs, Caitlin Boggs, Dillion Scott Broyles; nieces, nephews and her special friends: Helen and Mill Baker of Connersville. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her son: David Broyles; her grandson: William Scott Broyles; several brothers and sisters. Ruby’s funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, followed by interment in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 noon Monday until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
