Beatrice M. Dillon, 97, of Evansville, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, at her family’s home in Salem, Alabama. She was born March 29, 1915 in Petersburg, IN where she raised her children until she moved to Evansville in the early 1970’s.
She worked at Lemons Greenhouse in Petersburg until she moved to Evansville, then she was working for the Flower Shop until she retired in 1991. She also had her own business grooming and breeding poodles in her home. She was an avid bird watcher and loved to garden. She will be missed greatly by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, sisters, and children, Martha Evans and Connie Dillon.
Beatrice is survived by her son-in-law, Raymond Evans of Opelika, AL; and daughter-in-law, Pat Dillon of Wappapello, MO; her grandsons, Greg Evans of Evansville; Randy Evans of Salem AL; Quintin Marler, Travis Dillon, Darin Dillon and David Dillon all of Wappapello, MO; granddaughters, Melony Wilson of Las Vegas, NV, Shari Johnson of Sheldon, IL, and Gina Brown of Wappapello, MO; 22 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and one great great great grandson.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Bill Kellough, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
