Kenneth Ray Adams

Kenneth Wilford Adams, a fourth generation Alabamian, was born October 14th, 1928 in Green Bay, Alabama and passed away in the presence of family at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Indiana on February 18th, 2013 at the age of 84. Wilford was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Lelia Opal Williams; his parents, Enoch Jefferson Adams and Alma Reynolds; his brothers, Aulton Casey Adams, Cecil Brunson Adams, Audi Ray Adams, Curtis McKay Adams; and a sister, Willie Clio Adams Barter. Wilford was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict in Germany. Upon his return to Mobile, Alabama he started a career with Delchamps Food Stores that spanned 33 years. It was while working at Delchamps that he met his lifelong bride, Opal, who was a Cashier at the time. After his first retirement, Wilford and Opal, were owners and operators of Mobile's Candle Cabin and Wick's and Stick's for 14 years. Wilford is survived by a sister, Doris Cupidean Adams Griffin of Mobile; sons, Kenneth Ray (Lynn) Adams of Opelika, AL, William Joseph (Wanda) Adams of Hampton Falls, NH and Richard Lane (Forest Katherine) Adams of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandchildren, Patricia Lynnette Adams of Auburn, Kenneth Ray Adams, Jr. of Mobile, Britni Marie Adams of Hampton Falls, NH and Dennis Lane Adams of Abilene, TX; great-grandchild, Chelsea Marie Adams of Hampton Falls, NH; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, February 22, 2013 in Pine Crest Cemetery with Reverend Q.T. Curtis officiating.
