Francis E. “Wahoo” Dietrich, 85, of Ft. Wayne, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Anne’s Home. He was born in Branch County, Michigan to the late Frank H. and Mary (Herman) Dietrich on November 20, 1927. He was a welder for Gerrig Trucking. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and served on the Battleship Missouri. Mr. Dietrich was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, VFW Post 1421, Tristate Gas Engine Association and Maumee Valley Gas and Steam Association. He is survived by his children, Rosalie (Dick) Marley of Bowie Maryland, Paul Dietrich of Craigville, Nicholas Dietrich of Ossian, Ruth MacLaren of Conroe, TX, and Robert Francis Dietrich of Ft. Wayne; six grandchildren; one great grandchild, half brother, Leonard Sosinski of Woodstock, IL; half sisters-in-law, Anna Sosinski of Bronson, MI and Lorraine Sosinski of Kalamazoo, MI. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Stein) Dietrich in 1981; sisters, Alphia “Faye” Kiep and Mary Ann Dietrich; half siblings, Florence O’Shea, Stella Condon, Ruth Buccellato, Joseph Sosinski, Marion Sosinski, and Harold Sosinski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Rd., Yoder, IN 46798, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Ft. Wayne, IN 46809. A Rosary Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Anne’s Home or Cancer Services of Northeast IN.
