Beulah Taylor Lawhorne
June 19, 1927 – March 16, 2013

Beulah Taylor Lawhorne, 85, of Madison Heights, passed away March 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lawhorne.
Born June 19, 1927, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Denver Taylor and Kate Hart Taylor.
She was the retired co-owner of Lawhorne & Co. Realtors, Sam Lawhorne Septic Tank Service, Inc., and Virginia Masonry Seal, Inc. She was a life member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and a member of the Forest Lions Club. She was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow for Humanitarian Services Award, and the Lions of Virginia Foundation Distinguished Humanitarian Award. She was the first female in Lynchburg to receive a real-estate broker’s license, in the 1960’s.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara L. Wright and husband Wayne, of Madison Heights; a grandson, Kevin Andrew Wright, of Albany, NY; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Jean Shelton and husband Gary, Dorine Graybill, and Peggy Gunter, all of Lynchburg; brothers-in-law, Charles R. Gunter, of Gretna, Ernest M. Gunter Jr. and wife Mary, of South Boston, and Mack Almond Sr. and wife Barbara, of Lynchburg; cousins, Irene Taylor, Ruth Baber, Rachel Wooldridge, and Shirley Wooldridge, all of Lynchburg, and Alfreda Liebermann, of Pittsboro, NC; special friend and neighbor, Katherine Wright, of Madison Heights, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 7-9:00 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, and at other times at the residence of her daughter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday at Whitten Timberlake Chapel by the Rev. Dennis Roberts. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Headley, Centra Hospice, and Team Nurse, for the loving care given to Beulah, during her illness.
