Estie Morris Griffin

Estie Morris "Griff" Griffin, 81, of Hampton, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.
Born in Daylight, TN, Morris grew up in McMinnville, TN and Detroit, MI. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, initially as a Firefighter, then later as a Loadmaster with flying time in both C130 and C141 aircraft. His military decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross and five Air Medals, many of which were earned in his Vietnam tour. Following his military retirement he worked as a mechanic in Norfolk, VA for the U.S. Postal Service.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Monique; son, Alain (Judy) Griffin of O'Fallon, IL; daughter, Lynn (Dennie) Perkinson of Yorktown, VA; three sisters; three brothers; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hampton, with a celebration of Morris' life to begin at 10:30 am. Inurnment, with military honors rendered by the U.S. Air Force, will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or a Veteran's Organization.
