Obituary of Frank Nolte
Frank Nolte, 73, of Evansville, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida. He was born September 16, 1939 in Waverly, MO. Frank was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. At the age of 61 he retired from the Telecommunications Industry. After retirement, Frank started his own woodworking business. He recruited for the Sullivan University’s Culinary Department. He was currently employed by Good Sam Enterprises where he would inspect and rate campgrounds throughout the United States. He was very involved with the National Bicycle League. He was past president and was instrumental in the formation and design of the BMX Track here in Evansville. Frank joined Lessing Masonic Lodge in 1964 and transferred to Daylight Lodge in 2007. He was a member of Evansville Scottish Rite where he served as Thrice Potent Master. He received his 33rd Degree in 2002. He was very active in the Hadi Shrine Temple Hospital Staff, a member of the Hadi Shrine Golf Club, and Hadi Shrine Arab Patrol. He was preceded by his parents, Ludwig and Grace Nolte; two sons, David and Darrin Nolte. Frank is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue “Graul” Nolte; granddaughter, Charley Nolte; grandson, J.D. Nolte; granddaughter, Grace Nolte; two brothers, Dean Nolte (Bettye) and John Nolte (Florence); nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Diane “Grimm” Nolte; step-granddaughter, August Taylor; step-grandson, Cole Royster (Stephanie); and five step-great grandchildren. Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gene Backes, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park with Military Rites. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with a 6:30 PM Masonic Service and walk through by the Shrine, 33rd Degree and the Hospital Staff at 6:15 PM. Visitation will also be held Tuesday from 11:00 until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hadi Shrine Transportation Fund, 6 Walnut Street, Evansville, IN 47708.
